Environmental Statement.

We feel so privileged to live in this beautiful part of Cornwall and are eager to show how it is possible to live in comfort while leaving only a light footprint on this fragile earth.

* We will wash and air dry any clothes that guests may like washed during their stay - free of charge.

*We have a large walled kitchen garden and endeavour to produce as many organic ingredients as possible to serve for breakfast. Fruit may range from rhubarb to nectarines, vegetables from courgettes and tomatoes to aubergines, all served with our own duck or hen eggs. Any watering is carried out using water collected from the woodshed roof or well

*We buy locally sourced produce to cut down on food miles and to support our local economy. We buy and serve fair-trade tea and coffee

*We reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible, and encourage our Guests to do the same.

*We have fitted energy efficient light bulbs, and have arranged for an audit to be done in Spring 2007. We have changed to green tariff electricity and we are actively looking into alternative energy sources.

*We use environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products, which we buy in bulk to reduce packaging and we use a laundry agreement to reduce towel washing.

*We plant a native tree in our grounds for every100th guest we have staying with us and we invite them to plant it.

Guests are encouraged to explore the many delights of our local area. We keep a range of maps and walking guides along with information on local attractions.

This policy will be reviewed every 2 years to ensure it remains relevant.
